Talent scouts from international modelling agency Chic Management will be in Newcastle this Saturday in a bid to find the Hunter's next supermodel.
The agency has teamed up with Facon magazine for the event to be held at The Rooftop at Westfield Kotara on July 6 from 10am to 2pm.
Budding models are encouraged to attend the scouting event and enter the "Australis Face of Facon" model search. The morning will be a fun learning experience for girls interested in modelling and a chance to ask the experts questions about the industry.
Facon editor, Lara Lupish believes this is a great opportunity for girls and is excited to bring a national agency to the region.
"Usually girls will have to make the effort to drive to Sydney to speak to agencies and that can be a daunting experience. Next weekend Sydney is coming to Newcastle, not the other way around," she said.
"While sending pictures to an agency is great, meeting the directors of Chic face-to-face offers girls a much better opportunity to show their personality as well as their unique look.
"In today's day and age, it is not enough to just be a pretty face. Agencies are more and more looking for girls that offer something a bit different. This is a golden opportunity for the young women of Newcastle."
The competition remains open until August 31. The winner will be announced at a runway show at Westfield Kotara on October 12 and will receive a development contract with Chic Management and a fashion editorial shoot in Facon magazine.
