Name: Dayne Davis
Number: 30
Where were you born? Chatham, Canada
What suburb do you live now? Fennell Bay
How did you get into hockey? Being Canadian I didn't have much of a choice, but most due to my brother Scott who is 17 years older than I am.
How long have you played for the Northstars? This is my 4th season playing for the Northstars
What's your favourite hockey memory? Apart from my 3 Goodall Cups [AIHL championship trophy] I have fond memories of playing in the OHL and also going to the National Canadian Championships with Wellington Dukes in the RBC Cup.
Do you have a trademark hockey move? Probably the windmill glove save or the two pad stack. I am old now so they are more 90's style saves you don't see much anymore.
Watch Dayne's 'windmill' save here:
Which team do you follow in the NHL? Toronto Maple Leafs
Do you think you would make a good goalie? Some days I hope so (note, Dayne is the goalie)
What would you to say to someone who has never been to a hockey game? Hockey has all the things that Australian's love - fast paced, hard hits, goals. Once you can understand the simple rules it is a sport that becomes addictive.
What do you do for a day job? I am the general manager for Blumer Lehmann Australia which is a mass timber engineering and construction company.
What is your dream job? I am living my dream job every day. Certainly blessed and lucky.
Do you have any superstitions? I am very superstitions. I have a daily pregame routine which I follow. It drives my wife and team mates crazy some times, but it is 30 years of habits which have worked for me
If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life what would it be? PIZZA. No question.
If you could time travel, would you go to the past or future? I would go back to the past
Who would you like to be stuck on a deserted island with? If I could be stuck on a deserted island it would be with Macgyver so I could get out of there and back home to my wife and kids.
What is the craziest thing you have ever done? I have done a few ridiculous and crazy things over the years, but one of the craziest was actually leaving my home town of 1000 people in 2008 with $400 in my pocket after University and moving to Australia. The rest just fell into place from there.
How would people describe you? I don't know. Depends on how they know me. Out of hockey I like to think I am very relaxed and a likeable bloke, but when I am with the hockey team I am certainly very competitive and want to win at all costs.
If you could master one skill you don't have right now, what would it be? How to read my wife's mind. That would make things a whole lot easier hahahahahaha
