Name: Mathew Lindsay

Number: 3

Where were you born? Newcastle

Where do you live now? Newcastle

How did you get into hockey? Watched my dad play since I can remember. At the age of 6 I went for my first skate and by 8 years old I was hooked!

How long have you played for the Northstars? Since 2008 with the AIHL team but also did all my junior hockey with the organisation as well, so basically since 2002!

What's your favourite hockey memory? Winning the Goodall Cup in 2015, with my wife and family in the crowd. We had made the final so many times and fell short, so to finally succeed was an amazing feeling!

Highlights from the 2015 AIHL grand-final

Do you have a trademark hockey move? Haha I don't think so, but if you asked my good buddy Jamie Woodman, he would probably say my toe drag.

Which team do you follow in the NHL? Toronto Maple Leafs

Do you think you would make a good goalie? Not at all...I played it once when I was 15 against my older sisters team at the time. She scored against me, I was so upset!

What would you to say to someone who has never been to a hockey game? Newcastle's rink is an amazing place for your first game. The community and atmosphere at home is so special and welcoming. There will never be a fan say they came once and it was enough. Be prepared for one of the fastest sports on earth!

What do you do for a day job? I am an occupational therapist and run a hockey development company, NSA, with Dave [Ferrari] and JFK [John F Kennedy Jr, Northstars head coach].

What is your dream job? Working with the hockey community full time developing future players, and also tying in OT [occupational therapy] by running programs for kids with disabilities and community mental health.

Do you have any superstitions? I used to, however not anymore, it becomes too tiring!

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life what would it be? Pasta. My wife Maddy and I just got back from our honeymoon in Italy and I gladly ate pasta meals twice a day for weeks. Amazing food.

If you could time travel, would you go to the past or future? I'd travel to the future to see if the Maple Leafs can finally win the Stanley Cup!

Who would you like to be stuck on a deserted island with? I know it's cheesy but my wife Maddy. She makes every day enjoyable and has the brain to figure out how we could be saved!

What is the craziest thing you have ever done? Hung out with Timmy Stanger in our youth...I think that's all I can say about that.

How would people describe you? Friendly, approachable, loyal, and for some reason I always hear, 'looks disinterested'. I think that is just my concentrating face! Haha

If you could master one skill you don't have right now, what would it be? Any trade. Renovating a house is tough when you rely on zero experience and YouTube videos!
