The beach can be a daunting and overwhelming experience for children with autism. STS aims to make that experience a little easier, safer and more accessible.
To help bring surfing to children with autism across 10 locations this summer, STS is holding a fundraiser at The Wickham Park Hotel.
The group is aiming to raise $20,000 this winter to allow it to add more free events for families next season.
The event is free and kicks off at 4pm with live music in the beer garden with JJ King followed by performances by The Blues Bombers and The Ride-On's. There will be raffles and prizes on offer throughout the night and an auction prize.
This year, Surfing the Spectrum catered to almost 400 families in Newcastle and the Hunter.
