The big drawcard and highlight will be the return of the Superboat Championships to our gorgeous lake, with the competition revving up over both Saturday and Sunday. I always love seeing our community and visitors gather around the edges of our lake to take in the sights and sounds of what is a massive weekend of competition. Make sure you get there early to get the best spot lakeside. It is always an amazing weekend and there is just as much happening off the water as on it this year. With markets, food stalls, entertainment and the Lake Mac PWC Race Series returning, there will be action from Eleebana right around to Marmong Point.
On Saturday, we will also celebrate the completion of the $6.5 million redevelopment of Toronto Swim Centre with a community open day. The project has given the centre a new lease of life and it's looking great. The community day starts from 10am and includes free entry to the pool, activities for kids and a visit from James Magnusson.
The 2019 Fernleigh 15 is on back too this Sunday. It is a popular event not only for runners but for anyone who is looking for a fun day out, regardless of their ability. Registrations are open up until Sunday. Visit runnsw.com.au/event/2019-fernleigh for more.
