The five-time Olympic gold medalist will lap it up with families at Lambton and Wallsend swimming pools on December 8 as part of the Hello Summer Community Day.
The event gives young swimmers the opportunity to meet with the inspirational swimming legend. As well as autographs and photos with Thorpe, families can enjoy face painting, jumping castles, water games and races on the day.
Hello Summer Community Days will be held at each Newcastle pool in December allowing water babies of all ages to take the plunge and trial their local aquatic facilities.
Mayfield and Stockton swimming pools will hosts its Hello Summer Community Days on December 1.
Turnstiles into the Stockton, Mayfield, Wallsend and Lambton pools will be open for free between 1pm and 4pm during their community days.
