The Schools Spectacular performance staged at Qudos Bank Area on November 23 and 24 will be shown on the Seven Network across Australia, including Prime7 locally and throughout regional NSW, from 7pm on Saturday, December 7.

"For these students seeing the show they were part of is a real star moment," Schools Spectacular Co-executive producer Jane Simmons said.

"Our theme was STARS, and we will truly present a galaxy of stars on television screens around Australia.

"We would love everybody to feel the power, enthusiasm and sheer enjoyment of these talented young people.

"It will highlight some of Australia's best emerging musical talent showcased by some of the best in the business. Every year people are amazed what these students achieve."

Students from 16 Hunter schools have been selected to take part in the enormous Schools Spectacular entertainment extravaganza. Twenty-three schools in total took part.

They contributed to a total of 5500 stars of the Schools Spectacular including 40 featured performers, an incredible 100-piece symphony orchestra, 20-piece stage band, 2800-voice choir, 2300 amazing dancers, the D'Arts Ensemble disability program, an Aboriginal dance troupe, African dance troupe, puppets, aerialists and an indispensable behind-the-scenes team.

Ms Simmons said television viewers will see why the audiences of around 30,000 across the four performances at Sydney's Qudos Bank Arena were thrilled with the trademark colour, outstanding talent and variety on which the Schools Spectacular has built its reputation.

"They will be entertained by a kaleidoscope of music ranging from time-honoured classics through a nostalgic 90s mash-up to the latest hits that have the kids in the audiences singing along," she said.
