Elton, known for writing cult comedies such as Blackadder, The Young Ones, Maybe Baby and even an episode of Mr Bean, last performed stand up in Australia in 2006.
This time around, he will bring Ben Elton Live to the Civic Theatre on May 2.
Elton exploded onto the comedy scene more than 30 years ago, hosting Channel 4's ground-breaking Saturday Live. Since then he has achieved success as a stand-up comic, author, playwright, actor and director.
Also a highly respected author, Elton has published 16 best-selling novels, six of which became number one bestsellers. He is widely known for his stage writing which includes the global phenomenon We Will Rock You based on the music of British rock legends Queen.
