Established by Greek migrants more than 42 years ago, Fronditha Care was created to make sure those who didn't speak English well could be understood and live the way wanted, celebrating their customs and traditions.

Fronditha Care is known for celebrating the multicultural roots of its residents, and fosters a culturally sensitive model of care.

Established by Greek migrants more than 42 years ago, Fronditha Care was created to make sure those who didn't speak English well could be understood and live the way wanted, celebrating their customs and traditions.

The 66-bed facility in Mayfield has offered that unique model of care since 2011.

In partnership with the Hippocrates Australian Greek Aged Persons Association, Fronditha Care opened its Hippocrates Aged Care facility in Crebert Street, Mayfield, in 2011.

Recently, it hosted a month-long procession of Christmas events and activities all prepared by the dedicated lifestyle and activity team. The unique daily Mediterranean menu changed to include some Christmas favourites like scrumptious roasts, barbecues and summer fruit.

Residents are also encouraged to stay connected to their community and their favourite places through their regular weekly bus trips. Most use these trips to get their shopping done and is particularly popular during December.

The local Greek community is also a major part of the facility's day-to-day as they are neighbours.

The President of the Hippocrates Australian Greek Aged Persons Association is a volunteer at the facility, and is the resident's hairdresser.

Residents are also invited to their activity centre, which is connected by a shaded walkway.

Every week the Association hosts activities like bingo and lunch, which the residents love to attend.

It's all part of the unique model of care that Fronditha Care offers.

Fronditha Care's HIPPOCRATES residential aged care is offering tours for interested families.
