Swansea Belmont's youth teams played a major role as the host club finished as the highest-placed Hunter squad at the NSW surf lifesaving open titles on Sunday at Blacksmiths Beach.

Winner Nick Stoddart, Saxon Coates and Beau McGregor gave Swansea Belmont the trifecta in the under-17 board race.
Stoddart, Kye Taylor and Josh Murphy combined to win the under-19 board relay, while Coates, McGregor and Stoddart claimed the under-17 board relay. The club's Kurt Murphy, Ben Rees and Eli Worell were third in the relay.
The under-17 girls' taplin relay also went to the hosts through the line-up of Zali Burge, Eliza Johnson and Hayley Walmsley. They were also third in the ski relay. Johnson and Lara Manning won the under-19 double ski.
Newport claimed the open championship pointscore on 568, well clear of second-placed Wanda on 387. Swansea Belmont were seventh on 155.
It was announced at the championships that Swansea Belmont would host the titles again in 2021, stretching the carnival's stay at the club into a fifth consecutive year. Club president Graham Burge said "the event's been fantastic".
"We had terrific conditions for competition again this year and everyone's enjoyed the competition over the past few weeks which is great," Burge said. "And the opens was great today with perfect waves."
Other Hunter winners over the weekend included Redhead's Justin McMorland in the open male board race and Cooks Hill's Bella Williams in the under-17 ironwoman. Williams also secured silver in the board. Fingal's Grace Hewitt claimed the under-17 and open female beach sprint.
On Friday, Swansea-Belmont won the under-15 female board rescue with Kaylee Dowsett and Zara Foran. Cooks Hill claimed silver and bronze with Charlie Burns and Tiana Sargeant, and Lola Russell and Lani Waller respectively.
Swansea-Belmont also took out the under-15 girls' cameron relay with Poppy Doran, Dowsett, Foran and Hannah Jarvis.
Swansea-Belmont's Daniel Chisholm, Saxon Coates, Beau McGregor and Nick Stoddart were third in the under-17 male surf teams.
Another gold medal from Hunter clubs on day one of the three-day titles came from Cooks Hill in the under-15 female surf teams via the line-up of Burns, Isabella Campbell, Russell and Waller.
Redhead's Jacob Cerniauskas, Daniel Collins, Isak Costello and Ethan Whiteman were second in the open male surf teams.
Cooks Hill's Jack Breasley, Noah Jackson, Billy Moody and Charlie Walker were second in the under-15 male surf teams.
Breasley, Moody, Walker and Brady Stewart claimed bronze in the under-15 male cameron relay.
Molly Breasley, Freya Konetschnik, Sophia McMahon and Bella Williams (Cooks Hill) took silver in the girls' under-17 surf teams.
Cooks Hill's Campbell, Sargeant and Waller were third in the under-15 female board relay.
