Those who are used to scouring the Olive Tree Market for unique gift ideas can still pick up something handcrafted for Mother's Day and support local creatives at the same time.
The first Virtual Olive Tree Market will be held on May 2 via the market's website, Facebook and Instagram pages.
The market's founder Justine Gaudry said the move to online was part of a bid to support artists during the COVID-19 crisis.
"We have launched this brand new initiative to support our creative community through this time, and beyond, and to provide a dynamic platform for our virtual visitors to experience the Olive Tree Market from the safety of their homes," Ms Gaudry said.
"This is a way for you to support the artists, small businesses, and the creatives you know and love, and to help keep the creative communities heart beating. It's more important now than ever."
The Olive Tree Market encourages you to put the Virtual Market date in your calendar, RSVP to their Facebook event, where all details will be released on how the virtual platform will work on May 2.
Ms Gaudry said that the line-up of the creative collective that will be taking part will be released in the coming week, and that all individual stallholder discounts and and special customer deals will be listed. The Facebook event link is: https://bit.ly/2VlWSlU
The Virtual Olive Tree Market will be held the week before Mother's Day, so customers will be able to buy a gift for Mother's Day from one of the participating makers, and have it delivered directly to their mum.
